Get ready for a frightfully fun night of horror flick knowledge, flying axes, and killer costumes at Climaxe Throwing’s Scary Movie Trivia Night and Costume Contest!

Trivia teams can enjoy a free hour of axe throwing and training from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, then they'll battle it out starting at 6:30 PM with a Jeopardy-style trivia game, that also incorporates axe throwing.

Players register individually, but can group up in teams of up to 4. It’s going to be a night of chills, thrills, and axe kills (just the targets… hopefully). Don’t miss it!

We’re also hosting a costume contest with three prizes up for grabs; Best Group Costume, Most Creative Costume, and Fan Favorite. Winners will be announced after trivia ends. You don't have to be a trivia player to win, but you must be present to claim your prize!

TEAM SETUP

• Teams can consist of 1 to 4 players.
• Each team member must rotate as the designated axe thrower, if the team has multiple players.

HOW TO PLAY

1. Choose a Trivia Question
   • The host displays the Jeopardy-style game board with categories and point values.
   • A team is selected at random to go first and chooses a question (e.g., "Slashers for 200").
2. Throw to Answer
   • Teams write their answer on their answer board and place it face down on their table. Once their answer is written, teams begin throwing for a bullseye. Before a team can answer, they must hit a bullseye.
   • Once a team hits a bullseye, they must shout “BULLSEYE!”, clap their clappers, and notify the judge. All other teams must stop throwing at this time.
   • The referee will confirm the bullseye. If the referee decides the bullseye has not been hit, the team may call for a second opinion. If the second opinion confirms there is no bullseye, all teams may resume throwing. If the second opinion confirms a bullseye has been hit:
3. Answer the Question
   • The bullseye team now attempts to answer the question by submitting their answer to the Gamesmaster.
     • If correct:
       • They receive the points for that question.
       • They gain control of the board and select the next question.
     • If incorrect:
       • No points are awarded.
       • All other teams may resume throwing to win the chance to answer and steps 1-3 repeat. The team with the incorrect answer is out for this question.

ROUNDS OVERVIEW

• Round 1: “Chop 'Til You Drop” (30 questions)
  • Standard Jeopardy-style with categories and increasing point values.
  • One hidden "Double Kill" (like a Daily Double).
  • Only the team that selects it can answer. The team can wager up to the total of their current points, or up to 100 if the team has no current points.
  • Answer the question alone — no help from other teams.
• Round 2: “The Axe-ecution Round” (30 questions)
  • Same layout, harder questions, higher point values.
  • Now there are two “Double Kill” questions hidden in the board.
• Final Round: “Final Slay-perdy” (1 question)
  • Each team wagers as much of their current score as they want, or up to 500 if the team has no current points.
  • Teams will now have 60 seconds to write their answer, hit their bullseye, and submit their answer. Once they hit a bullseye, they can submit their written answer to the final, spooky question.
  • For this round only, points will be removed for incorrect answers.
  • Answers will be judged, and scores adjusted based on correct/incorrect responses.

SCORING & PRIZES

• Points are accumulated throughout the game via correct answers.
• After the Final Slay-perdy round, scores are tallied.
• Top 3 teams win prizes:
  • 🥇 1st Place: Bronze Blade gift card for each team member, good for 4 free hours of axe throwing, plus one free guest hour
  • 🥈 2nd Place: $50 gift certificate for each team member, good for 2 free hours of axe throwing
  • 🥉 3rd Place: $25 gift certificate for each team member, good for 1 free four of axe throwing

RULES TO DIE FOR

• Bullseyes must be confirmed before answering — no exceptions.
• For this game, a bullseye is anywhere in the 5 and 6 ring.
• Rotate throwers in multi-player teams.
• No shouting answers — teams that do so will lose their turn.
• The referees decisions are final.
• Keep it fun, spooky, and respectful of all teams.

• Axe throwing newbies? Come an hour early for free coaching and practice. During the game, you can also ask for tips — no shame in surviving!
