Get ready for a frightfully fun night of horror flick knowledge, flying axes, and killer costumes at Climaxe Throwing’s Scary Movie Trivia Night and Costume Contest!

Trivia teams can enjoy a free hour of axe throwing and training from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, then they'll battle it out starting at 6:30 PM with four spine-tingling rounds of trivia.

Players can register solo or as a team of 4. Solo players will be randomly assigned to teams of four—perfect for making new spooky friends.

It’s going to be a night of chills, thrills, and axe kills (just the targets… hopefully). Don’t miss it!

We’re also hosting a costume contest with three prizes up for grabs; Best Group Costume, Most Creative Costume, and Fan Favorite. Winners will be announced after trivia ends. You don't have to be a trivia player to win, but you must be present to claim your prize!

Team Setup:

• Teams consist of 4 players (individual players may be place in teams of differing size at the Gamesmaster's discretion)

Gameplay:

• The game includes 4 rounds of trivia:
  • Slasher movies
  • Monster movies
  • Found footage
  • Horror comedies

• Roles Per Round
  • Before each round begins, your team must assign the following roles:
    • Thrower – The player who will throw the axe and aim for a bullseye.
    • Writer – The player who writes the team’s answer on the whiteboard.
    • Clapper – The player who uses the noisemaker to signal a bullseye.
    • Runner – The player who delivers the answer board to the Gamesmaster once a bullseye has been hit and recognized.

Each team member must perform each role once. Strategy counts!

• How Each Round Works
  • Each round will include 5 questions.
  • After a question is read:
    • Your team will discuss and agree on your answer.
    • The Writer will write the answer on your whiteboard and place it face down on your team’s table.
    • The Thrower will then attempt to hit a bullseye.
    • Once a bullseye is hit, the Clapper uses their noisemaker to alert the Gamesmaster.
    • All other teams must pause throwing when a clapper goes off.
    • The Ref will confirm the bullseye.
    • After the bullseye is confirmed, the Runner brings the whiteboard to the Gamesmaster for review.

• Scoring
  • If your team’s answer is correct, you earn:
    • 3 points if you’re the first correct team
    • 2 points if you’re the second
    • 1 point if you’re the third

If your answer is incorrect, your team is out for that question.

• Winning
  • The team with the most total points after all 4 rounds will be crowned Climaxe Movie Trivia Night Champs!
