The Serve & Protect Volleyball Classic is a full day of sand, sets, and spirited competition — all to honor our first responders and raise funds for SAFE (Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund).

• Intermediate - coed 6s

Why Play?

SAFE (Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund) is a Kansas City nonprofit that provides immediate and ongoing support to the families of first responders who lose their lives in the line of duty. Within the first 48 hours of tragedy, SAFE delivers a $40,000 check to the surviving spouse and family. Beyond that, they continue to step in with additional assistance as needed, ensuring no family is left to navigate such a devastating loss alone.

In the past six months, Kansas City has lost three heroes in the line of duty—two of them within the last month and a half:

• Graham Hoffman, KCFD Paramedic  – End of Watch: April 27, 2025
• Elijah Ming, Wyandotte Co. Sheriff Deputy – End of Watch: July 26, 2025
• Hunter Simoncic, KCKPD Officer – End of Watch: August 26, 2025

This event honors their memory while supporting SAFE. The funds we raise now will ensure SAFE can continue to be there for the next family in need—because sadly, it’s not a matter of if, but when they will be needed next.
