What operators ask before they open their first unstaffed hour.
What is 24/7 facility access control?
It is a system that decides who can open your doors, and when, without a person at the front desk. With Sports Carnival, access comes from the booking or membership itself. A customer who reserves a court or cage gets entry for that time window. A member gets entry for the hours their tier allows. Everyone else stays outside.
Which types of venues can run unstaffed hours with Sports Carnival?
Any venue that rents space by the hour and does not need a staff member supervising the activity itself. Pickleball clubs, batting cages, training facilities, golf simulator lounges, basketball and volleyball courts, and multi-sport facilities are the most common fits. Activities that require an on-site coach or safety supervisor should keep staff on the floor.
Can a batting cage or training facility run without staff?
Yes, for rental time that does not need a coach on the floor. Players book cage time online, sign the waiver, and get a door code that only works during their slot. Many facilities keep lessons and team rentals staffed and run open cage time self-serve early in the morning and late at night.
How is access different for members and one-time bookings?
Members get ongoing access through Access Groups that match their membership tier, so a premium tier can open the building at 5am while a standard tier opens at 8am. One-time customers get temporary access tied to their reservation, which starts when the booking starts and ends when it ends.
Do my customers need to download an app to get in?
No. Customers can unlock the door with the QR code from their booking confirmation, a mobile credential, or an Apple Wallet pass. The Kisi reader also supports NFC and RFID cards for members who prefer a physical card.
Can I keep staffed hours and add self-serve hours on top?
Yes, and most venues start that way. Keep the front desk open during your busiest hours and let access control run the early mornings, late nights, and slow weekdays. You set the schedule for each Access Group, so you can expand self-serve hours as you get comfortable.
What do I have to set up in Kisi myself?
Nothing inside Kisi. Sports Carnival creates your Kisi Place and links it to your account. Once your Kisi hardware is online, your doors show up in the Access Control panel in Sports Carnival, where you assign them to Access Groups.
What happens when a membership lapses or a payment fails?
Access follows membership status. When a membership is canceled, paused, or lapses, that member loses door access automatically. Nobody has to remember to deactivate a fob or change a code.
Do customers still sign a waiver during unstaffed hours?
Yes. The digital waiver is part of the booking flow, so it is signed before the customer ever reaches your door. Signed waivers are stored with the customer record in Sports Carnival.
Which Sports Carnival plans include access control?
